NOT FOR PASSION BUT MONEY.

It used to be fun watching all these sportsmen play their various sports on the field of play but now what do we see, people now play for the money involve. Especially African footballers or better still sportsmen play for the money involved in the sports.
It is now difficult to find people who say they are doing this particular thing for the love they have for it. Now even the kids in nursery or pre-school will tell you when he/she is not given a certain amount then there would be no work done. Why should this be so? It is because the leaders have failed in all their dealings in inculcating into the youths and citizens the need to know that the country in which they are leaving in is their property and when things are done the right way success would be theirs.
Taking a critical look at the country we are in today all that is done is money conscious but not the wellbeing of the society. When I raise my eyes and see the direction the country is geared towards my heart sinks.

All what I am driving at is the fact that citizens no more take the country at heart but rather the wellbeing of only themselves. The content of this write up is geared towards the sportsmen of the country who are invited to contribute their quota to the development of the country but yet decide to do any shabby actions towards their job prescription.
People no more take the country at heart as previously said but rather their selfish interest. Imagine the skipper of the men’s senior national team the Black Stars moving from the Arabian league to the Chinese league all because of the money involve but not the status of the league.
Moving from Europe to Arab frequently diminished his ability to play the game but he never took time to correct that but the money he was earning at the club was his main focus and today he has moved to China because of the money and fame he would get in the football scene and not the activeness of the league.

Asamoah Gyan moved all the name of money. Congratulation for being the 8th highest paid player in the world but think of the others who are ahead of you. They are playing for tough clubs and always getting more playing time. Not any other clubs but tough European clubs for that matter.

I want to use this to urge the upcoming sportsmen and women to take the country at heart and devote their time to the country and forget about the money involve in what they do. Look at Brazil, their footballers contribute a quota of their earnings to the development of the sports in their country but what we see in Africa and Ghana, nothing of such is done and they even demand high money to give their services to the country.
