THIRD COMING OF MAHAMA: GREED OR INSIGHT?

Former President Mahama
When the announcement was made that former president Mahama has declared his intention to run again as flagbearer for the main opposition party National Democratic Congress (NDC) and subsequently run for presidency, it dawned on many that he is becoming a person of greed and insensitive to the cry of the majority of citizens who voted him out of power during the 2016 general elections.
I termed this the third coming of Mahama because Mahama won against President Akuffo-Addo and lost against the same person. If he emerges victorious in the internal elections of NDC, that will be the third coming. When many heard the intention or most appropriately the submission of his letter to the national secretariat of NDC, they tagged it insensitive or greediness on his part with others also tagging it as insightful because of his achievement in infrastructural development in Ghana.
Delving into the matter of the third coming of Mahama, I take a double standard stance in this matter to discuss it in this piece. Taking the insight matter of the coming and bisecting it like a cow in the abattoir.
I support the coming of the former president as insightful because the fact that he has contributed in the infrastructural development in Ghana, taking a critical look at the Accra Regional Hospital and the many day senior high schools in the country is a laudable event that needs to be upheld and commended. Just like any senior high school leaver who fails his/her final exams and rewrites, he/she will be cautious and desist from making same mistakes that caused the failure.
Understanding the matter of his comeback with statements like he has learnt his lesson and should be given the chance to correct the wrongs and move Ghana to the desire height we all wish to see is not a bad idea and so be taken as serious as any repented child will to his/her parents.
To every bad side, there is a good makes it possible to decipher the comeback in the aspect of greed. Some people like me have looked at it from the aspect of greed because of the political stains he might grease himself with. Viewing it from the political arena where he, Mahama has tasted the political ladder in this country from district assembly level through to the highest political office of presidency and staging a comeback to contest will amount to the weirdest thing a person can ever think of.
Judge not so you are not judged makes it difficult for me to judge the former president in this piece so I leave it to you to make your judgement and think through.
