CHURCH PROSTITUTES

For a while now churches have turned to be the abode for all the unexpected happenings in religious affairs without the mosques been an exemption. For the sake of this write up concentration will be given to the church. The topic is not for the mind to easily digest but to ponder on give meaning. In the minds of many prostitution is sex trade but in this case different meanings may be and will be given to address the falling standard of religious actions. Church prostitute in this case is the attitudinal manner ladies use to lure people to attend and worship God . Usually people give out the worse facial expression but the best of it all is the way and manner the young ones offer themselves willingly in the service of God. This singular act is what draws the attention of people and bring people to church. This is because of the delight that shows in the demeanor. This draws attention to the way prostitutes on the streets of Accra and beyond attract customers to patronise their goo

ARE ALTAR SERVERS SLAVES?

Image
An  altar server   is a  lay  assistant to a member of the  clergy  during a  Christian liturgy . An altar server attends to supporting tasks at the  altar  such as fetching and carrying, ringing the  altar bell , among other things. A young male altar server is commonly called an   altar   boy , whereas a young female altar server is commonly called an  altar girl . For the sake of this write up Altar servers will be referred to as Mass servers. Mass servers are persons who help in the celebration of mass by assisting the priest on the sanctuary in the Catholic Church. The lineage of Mass servers dates back to the 17th Century when the training of seminarians became more prominent and substitution was needed to that effect.  In as much as service to God is service to mankind does not warrant Altar servers to be treated as nonentity in the service of God. It should be noted that in liturgical celebrations the presence of mass servers is much needed as the presence of the pr

BARKING DOG AU

Image
This centers on the issue of Libya where Qaddafi was overthrown in a brutal way. Today, Libya, the once golden city has become the pathway for slavery. Just like the Salaga Slave market in Ghana, Libya has become the abode for cruel human treatments. As young as we were in primary school, African Union day was memorable and joyous moment because we went on break and reflected on the glorious achievements of the union. We were often told about Julius Nyerere, Kenneth Kaunda, Jomo Kenyatta and the many freedom fighters who led the liberation struggle of Africa. Today same cannot be said about this single body that stood against imperialism because it has become a stumbling block and full of vague promises. The once vibrant union has now turned out to be a puppet of the west and whoever stands against it is deemed an enemy of the west. What then has become of AU, the body that justified the overthrow of Qaddafi? Silent on the matter because their paymasters have sealed their

QADDAFI OF ZIMBABWE

Image
The title may be wrong but the information is as correct as the new dawn light. Waking up to the news of the voluntarily resignation of Robert Gabriel Mugabe brings to mind the brutal overthrow and killing of Murmar Al-Qaddafi of Libya and the illegal overthrow of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Was it not enough punishment and suffering in history that we were uprooted and made helpless slaves not only in new colonial outposts but also domestically. (Mugabe) Permit me to spring in some history which I know many know from primary school. Dr. Nkrumah, the founder of modern Ghana was illegally overthrown by imperialists of the West and power-drunk citizens of the nation all in the name of being a virtual dictator. What many failed to understand was the fact that he was safeguarding the sovereignty of Ghana from being swallowed by the so-called "human rights activists" of the West. Undoubtedly, the best African president after Dr. Nkrumah, Qaddafi was given the same chase d

MOJAE, THE NEW MUSIC ICON

Image
When it comes to music Ghana has experienced and still experiencing great musicians with no doubt that most of them doing their best to put Ghana in the world map of theater arts. When the likes of Obrafour, Sarkodie, Samini, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, etc are mentioned the music arena is filled with the good sensation of good and outdoor life. Yolanda Video Shhot When music is proclaim in universities, there is one name that most often cannot be escalated from the minds of Ghanaians about the boy form Takoradi who is rising faster to become the next Afro-pop singer in the terrain of Ghana.  Vested with good lyrics and flow is the sensational singer, Justice Kwesi Arko, whom most know as Mojae has always thrilled fans with songs like Mama Pray For Me, Yolanda, Hold You Down and many more.  Ohemaa yet to be released as a birthday package is the real deal that makes one to describe him as the new music icon to put Ghana on the map without no magical workings.

POOR DRESSING; THE MISTAKE UNSEEN BY UNIVERSITY GIRLS.

Image
Usually when I sit to ponder on the dressing of some tertiary students especially girls, it feels disgusting. Usually most of these girls either do not know their left from right or are following the crowd.  It will be very bad my side to sit unperturbed about the issue since it goes a long way to affect each and everyone in the negative sense because of the fact that it does not sell best the image of the country. In time past, University of Ghana was considered the school with uncouth dressings but now most of the tertiary schools are fighting to destool them  and assume the position of the baddest in the country.  Taking a look at the mission universities, not all but few, my heart sinks with pain to the way and manner the dress to class exposing either parts or all their God-given features to the world with the motive of seeking attraction form the opposite sex. What a mess! Often, most of the girl students forget that they attend schools with people already in their fi

GHANA'S EDUCATION: A PROBLEM IN DISGUISE

Image
Education they say is the backbone of every economy and that to be successful you need to go through education at one point in time which is the basic truth of life. A country that has gone through massive infrastructural development in no doubt has a working educational system as compared to the underdeveloped ones. What is education? Educational is the training and inculcating into an individual or group of people the ability to do something. It is also the ability to learn and acquire skills through observation and training. This training can either be what is termed formal, informal or semi-formal.  Education in life has three things to do, thus, to train the heart to love, to train the mind to think and the hand to work in the fulfillment of education's priority of making life better for all and sundry. The basic fact of the educational system in Ghana has been a problem in disguise rather than solving the problem of life. Ghana's education has failed to train

WORLD DEMOCRACY, A FLAW IN PRACTICE

Image
Democracy in its essence is the best of governance in the absence of nothing better but in its practice has become a flaw. Democracy is the system of governance where the views of the citizens are taken into consideration when decisions are been taken in a way to affect their lives. Abraham Lincoln defined it as government for the people, by the people and of the people. Hence when decision are been made it should be in the interest of the people. From the birthplace of Democracy, Athens, it is well established that it is the rule or governance by the people. In those times all members of voting right meet to take decisions that affect themselves not in this modern times where participatory democracy is not practiced. In modern societies and countries, the democracy been practiced is what most people term as Authoritarian Democracy where the views of the people are not considered. They are only consulted when the need arises for elections to be taken place. Legislators are rep

GHANA SPORTS: THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE WORSE

Image
Over time Ghana sports has depreciated in quality with the attitudes exhibited towards it over the past couple of five or so years. This many blame on the institutions overseeing the field with the view that they have lost control and have always been caught ball-watching in the discharge of their duties. I remember when growing up as a kid in the early 2000s and mid 2000s where sporting activities were delight to watch even when busy with extra pressing activities but so I cannot be said in this time of technological advancement where sports could be on rampage for viewership yet this is the time where the direct opposite is occurring at a highest momentum without brakes to haul it. Sports in those days were the backbone of many schools. It gives them the bragging right over their arch rival but these days being on top of sports is nothing to write home about making the activity a useless one. At the basic and secondary school level various field and track events were been or

GOOD TURNS BAD

Free shs is one of the prudent ventures that the current New Patriotic Party Government has initiated as a social intervention programme to help boost the educational and literacy rate of the average Ghanaian citizen so as to increase the level of productivity which will in a long round improve the economic status of the country. The project was has increased the chances of the Akuffo-Addo led administration to stay relevant in the eyes of parents yet the good has turned bad. This is because the haste initiated project is has hit the rock hard crushing to its minimal point of which when checked not will lead to chaos in the aftermath of the four year tenure. Free shs has generated a lot  of controversies in regards to educational materials and being no expert in academia and economics little exposure to facts on ground has made it possible to voice out some reasons that may or may not contribute to the success of the programme. First of these reasons is the fact that

WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE GOOSE, ....

I vividly remember this as if it happened just a day ago. The issue of tribal politics has never been something I admire and would never admire. Under the previous NDC government led by John Dramani Mahama a lot was said about his appointments by the then opposition NPP as family and friends government because of the fact that most were from the northern part of the country. He was labelled insensitive on that yet his accusers have resulted in the same game. Just as the sun was setting and the dust settling the current government have in its appointment have appointed to the most sensitive positions in the country with the latest been the appointment of former PNC chairman and father in-law to the vice president who has his son already appointed to the second highest post in NADMO. What is good for the goose is equally good for the gander.

RESTORATION OF ALLOWANCE, A NEEDLESS POLITICAL INTERVENTION

Image
Ever since the issue of free senior high school (shs) emerged from the dust I did not put across my opinion on the matter. I believe solely that the free shs is a laudable social intervention program which when implemented and sustain well will provide the best platform for all Ghanaian citizens, who one way or the other face the challenges to enroll their wards in the academic realm. Despite its very best, I have a diverse opinion about the issue on the grounds that there are many people who can also afford the fees of shs hence there was no need to make it free for everyone. This social intervention program could have been auctioned out to the poor in society through effective research on the background of the various students in the basic schools to find out who and who have problems in payment of fees and apportion the social intervention program to. The case of the matter at here is the restoration of trainee teachers' and nurses' allowance. This in its totality is

SOCIETAL NUISANCE, A CASE OF NUDITY

We live in a society where morality is believed to be of high standard yet our actions and inactions ecpose us to the generation not yet born as devil incarnate.  by: Kokoih John Kennedy Our moral consciousness has fallen apart with the rise of the many atrocities befalling us as a nation when it comes to covering our nakedness. This makes one sick when we accuse the Europeans of bad moral habits yet forget about our stinking immoral attitude. Not long ago the nation was plunged into a state of mourning with burning of markets to suicide then when we were recovering another unfortunate incident of mob action robbed the beauty of our hospitality towards one another. This mob actions make one to think deep within his or her subconscious mind whether we love others more than ourselves which incidentally goes against the the commandment of Christ Jesus. The attitude of this unacceptable mob action after its subsidy gave birth to rise of killings and armed robbery. Least we
