I have been thinking aloud off late about this issue of economic hardship exerted on Ghanaians by successive governments with deceit that they are serving Ghanaians in the right capacity. Lest we forget that the lives of the people depends more on the development of the state and how bewildered the government will be in tackling issues of societal needs. My focus is on the current government and how pragmatic measures are been adopted in addressing the needs of the ordinary electorate on the street. Here we are people dying on the streets while the politicians get themselves and families goodies upon goodies and amassing wealth meant to service the ordinary citizens. I have come to understand that power seeking people do not have people at heart. If they do, they would not have allowed young and determined students to sit under undesirable and dilapidated structure to study. PLIGHT OF NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL Dear National Director, I am writing to bring to your attention the challenges faced by National Service Personnels (NSPs) and propose a solution to address them. While it is a source of pride for many Ghanaian youths to enroll in the national service scheme after completing their tertiary education, the reality is that this joy is often overshadowed by pain, agony, and stress. The scheme has remained unchanged since its inception, which gives the impression that the leaders of the nation do not care about the welfare of those who are mandated to serve the nation. This year's (2018/2019) national service has been particularly challenging, with the scheme trying to delete ghost names and prevent the "no allawa" syndrome that discredits the program. The registration process has also been more expensive than in previous years, which may discourage personnel from accepting postings to remote areas, especially in less developed districts

Whenever I walk through the streets of Ghana's capital Accra I count churches to the extent that I get tired and stop counting. My problem however is not with the number of churches but the number of energetic men and women found in the churches praying all times of the week.  CHURCH CONGREGATION This phenomenon has been prevalent throughout the fourth republic and maybe beyond. I do not blame them for being in the church everyday. Rather I ask why they are in the churches? They are there to pray for a breakthrough in their businesses, pray for employment and a cure to their sicknesses among many others. They tend to rely on the church with the hope of finding a remedy to their problems from God. National Identification Authority (NIA) over the years hsa been one organisation I developed love for because of their zeal to make all citizens to be recognised as a part of the nation. But that love is gradually fading over the inconsistency with issues of national interest. The first been the registration of Ghanaians unto the Ghana card somewhere 2011/2012. This came as a relief and also the timing though bad, people had to leave their various activities to get registered with political activities also on the rise. Till now, nobody can tell the whereabouts of those cards as many did not get their copy coupled with the amount and accountability of invested resources. The interest of this piece is not on the huge sum of money that is been invested in the current Ghana card project.
